New Downtown Bakery … Hot or Not?
Angela's Sweets Finally Opens Its Doors

Angela's Sweets...Sprinkled With Love, the newest addition to Turlock's food scene, has opened its doors to the hungry public-but the jury is still out on whether or not it was worth the wait.
The hometown bakery, located in Downtown Turlock, serves a variety of carb-loading devices. These are not just limited to toffee bits cookies, a wild variety of scones, cream cheese brownies and raspberry oatmeal squares, but also boast custom decorated cakes and cupcakes for one or many...did I mention that they make EVERYTHING with butter?
Open Monday through Friday from 7am to 4pm, Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm, Angela's Sweets is geared more for the working crowd than the students; let's be honest, how many students even know where Broadway is?
As a huge fan of cupcakes, I am a bit let down by those offered by Angela's. The vanilla was dry and reminiscent of Costco frosting. The chocolate was a little better; however, I am confident a similar product could be created in the comfort of my kitchen with a box mix and a tub of frosting.
On the bright side, the s'more bars are an awesome treat for a little bit of money and can definitely cure that mid-day sugar fix. A close second? The chocolate chip cookies, with their perfect texture and a load of chocolate chips, will leave you craving more, but all you'll need is a glass of milk.
Prices are cheap and definitely fit into a student budget, exactly what most of us are looking for. It's cute on the inside and offers coffee and tea and individual items for under two bucks-a great spot to study on a rainy day if you need to get out of the house or away from campus.
