Two New University Appointments

Two new positions have been filled at California State University, Stanislaus. The new Executive Director of University Extended Education, beginning on March 1, is Ms. Kristina Belanger, and the new Campus Compliance Officer is Ms. Gina Leguria.
Ms. Belanger is a licensed attorney and concurrently the Executive Director of R & B Associates, which assists companies with organizational development, contract negotiations and marketing strategies.
Prior to coming to our campus, Ms. Belanger was Vice President of Continuing and Professional Studies at Kaplan University.
She received her doctor of jurisprudence from the Maimi School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Marietta College.
Ms. Belanger's position, as "Director of the University Extended Education," includes oversight of all extended programs at the different locations, such as the satellite campus' at Stockton and Tracy. Her office's objective is to create new resources in collaboration with CSU's academic leadership and the extenal business community, and to create new programs and courses that can be available to our students in the form of credit/non credit classes useful in the quest to achieve completion of degree.
Ms. Leguria has extensive experience with compliance, risk management and liability issues in line with state and federal standards. Her job history includes Executive Manager for the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department and Human Resources Manager with the Council for Human Resources with Stanislaus County.
Ms. Leguria graduated from the University of Pacific and McGeorge School of Law, with a doctor of jurisprudence. Leguria is an active member of the California state bar and also holds an MBA from Golden Gate University and a B.A. in Agriculture Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Ms Gina Leguria's position as Campus Compliance Officer is to serve directly under the University President, independently free to conduct research, interview persons when needed, and provide legal perspectives and supervision on a broad scope of issues involving the University.
Her job description also means that Ms. Leguria is the acting Campus Administrative Officer responsible for all matters involving discrimination, harassment, and any other legal employment issues/ complaints at State Personnel Board hearings.
She will also be responsible for reviewing all campus documents as they comply with federal, state, CSU system and campus policies and regulations. In collaboration with others on campus she is in charge of developing documents and processes that insure minimal liability for the campus. She will oversee all matters regarding human subject research projects, animal welfare, hazardous materials, grant funding, regulations and campus information security practices.
