CSU alumni mayor of Riverbank

California State University, Stanislaus alumni Virginia Madueno was sworn in as the mayor of Riverbank Monday, November 7th at the Riverbank community center.
Madueno graduated from CSU, Stanislaus in 1989 with a Bachelors degree in communications. Afterward she earned her Advanced Public Information Officer Certificate from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). She also went to JFK School of Government at Harvard University.
More than 200 people attended Madueno's swearing in, administered by Stanislaus County Supreme court Judge Ricardo Cordova.
"This was considered to be the largest turnout for an oath of office ceremony in 13 years," said city clerk Linda Abid-Cummings
