Chartwells food service company has been chosen to replace Sodexho as the sole campus dining service provider for California State University Stanislaus. The Campus Dining Committee unanimously recommended negotiating a 10-year contract with Chartwells. Chartwells will begin serving as the new CSU Stanislaus food service provider on June 29.
Clyta Polhemus, Director of University Business Services, said that Chartwells will be meeting with current campus Sodexho employees this Thursday to discuss employment with Chartwells. Polhemus said that there was no grantee that Chartwells will offer Sodexho employees a job, and they have to go through the hiring process and background check.

"Provided that they meet with Chartwells' hiring standards they will most likely be rehired," Polhemus said.

Chartwells will be working with Sodexho beginning June 8 to transition food services between companies without any disruption of services. Sodexho will be serving their last meal on June 23, and Chartwells will take over campus food services when campus re-opens after the Memorial day break. Chartwells will honor all catering contracts and food service commitments made by Sodexho for dates after June 29.
