Spring break is approaching fast but you should have booked your tickets and hotel months ago.
Fortunately for you, many places are still accepting late booking but you have to pay a little more then others if you want to have a good time. Many college students this year are planning to go to Panama City Beach, Florida and South Padre Island, Texas for Spring Break.
These two places are the "hot spot" this year in the United States if you're not planning on going to Cancun, according to Debbie Gibb of the Student and Youth Travel Association.
Gibb said 250,000 spring breakers will be attending Panama City Beach this year because of the celebrities and concerts that will be there. MTV and mtvU will be hosting Game Over at the Boardwalk Beach Resort Hotel. Hotels have been booked but there are a few rooms left.
Panic at the Disco! is just one of many bands that will be performing including Cobra Starship, Paramore, Pitbull, and many more in Panama City Beach.
STATravel.com is a great Web site to plan your vacation. They offer great values and are dedicated in providing great service that makes traveling safe and fun for college students.
Another place to help you out at the last minute is studentCity.com. You can book your spring break and hotel all in one. They also allow you to add on activities to your hotel like clubs, parties and water activities. They specialize in providing you with the best available spring break packages at the lowest price.
If you can't fly to Florida or Cancun, California has great places to visit for spring break. California is known for having great beaches and with 450 beaches, where to start first? Huntington Beach is famous for surfing.
Carmel City Beach in Carmel is another great beach with local hotels by the beach. Or you can travel around California and visit different areas of interest.
"My family and I are going to travel all over California," said Bre Decoteau, a student at California State University, Stanislaus. "Were going to travel to the Yosemite Redwoods, Santa Barbara, and San Diego."
"I'm going home to Mission Viejo and then I'm going to San Diego to visit my sister," said Joelle Fusaro, a student at CSU Stanislaus. "I'm looking forward to warm weather."
"I'm just going home to Tracy and then some friends and I are going camping in Santa Cruz for a few days," said Matt Collins, a student at CSU Stanislaus.
So instead of wasting money on a flight, drive on down to the nearest beach and have a barbeque with some friends. It's cheaper than buying a ticket and losing your luggage when California is your back yard.
