ASI Senate application deadline extended to fill spots

The Associated Students Incorporated Senate application deadline has been moved to next Monday April 14 by 5 p.m. Applications can be picked up in and turned into the ASI Office upstairs in the University Student Union. All positions became available for any California State University, Stanislaus student to apply for in the beginning of March.

Theta Chi rows for asthma

The Theta Chi Fraternity will be hosting their annual Rowathon fundraiser sometime this month in the Reflecting Pond at California State University, Stanislaus. This year's theme is asthma awareness with proceeds being divided in half, with one share going to the American Lung Association and the other half towards the John Tooma Scholarship.

ASI fights for short housing closures

The closure of campus housing has since been shortened to Dec. 23 to Jan. 1 for the 2008-09 school year after Associated Students Inc. representatives met with campus housing regarding complaints about this past year's closure. An administrative decision was made to continue to close on-campus housing for the first time during the 2007-08 winter break.

Women writing to recover from rape

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and the Department of Teacher Education is hosting a series of "Writing Workshops for Women," providing a forum for women to find healing and hope in their recovery from rape. "Rape is a big problem in every area," Brenda Betts, PhD.

Greekfest to kick off Thursday

Greek Life United will be hosting Greekfest April 10-18, which will include many activities open for all students to watch. The events will mainly take place in the quad. On Thursday, April 10 there will be a barbecue kick-off. The Penny War begins Monday, April 14, and will continue throughout the week.

Spring festival has sprung

The Warrior Squad organizes Homecoming Week and Warrior Day every year and this year it plans to add a new event, Spring Festival. Spring Festival will be from 3 to 8 p.m. April 18 in the Quad and will include live entertainment, food, and games. There is no admission charge for the event because students pay for it through the Associated Students Inc.

Earth Day will rock out loud with Quiet Drive

If you thought spring semester was vacant of fun holidays think again because Earth Day 2008 is right around the corner. California State University, Stanislaus students will be celebrating it here on campus from noon to 4 p.m. April 22 on the Pergola Meadow.
