The wildfires that started on Oct. 20 in southern California are finally under control as stated by the state of California on Nov. 6. On Nov. 7 only one of the 35 fires was reported to still be burning. Even though the fire hazard has finally been contained, people in the area should not let their guard down just yet.
The city of Turlock is taking a step in the green direction

The City of Turlock and Turlock Irrigation District are working together to take a step in the green direction by installing a new system that uses renewable energy. Installation of the new 1.2 Megawatt Fuel Cell Energy project is in the design stage now and will be installed late in the summer of 2008, according to Jeff Barton, power plant engineer department manager.
